Difference

Difference

Today while being at the hospital , I have heard one of the students describing one of the doctors having a very high IQ , because the doctor was able to answer him after reforming what the student was trying to say - though the student himself didn't know how to express it ! Well , as a general rule , which is true more than 95% , doctors do have a high IQ , but what was that student missing , so as most of the people when they are impressed by someone doing his job , is the experience factor , which makes people look brilliant in their specialties .

So a good person at his job , doesn't mean that he has a high IQ , in most of the cases , he developed his skills over a long period of screwing up and making mistakes now and then , till he formed the final pictures by which he presented to us , driving all people to be impressed by what does he have ! Which will eventually make everyone look smart , and it is something good !

There is a big difference between high IQ and experience !

Actually, if somebody was able to understand (I prefer the word “recognize”) a poorly-arranged question on the fly, then that shows that he or she has quiet an idea about it, and didn’t “think” a bit to understand nor to answer the question!

But still Dar, sometimes the skill level does indicate the person’s IQ. Maybe in medicine it doesn’t, because medicine is all about memorizing names and keeping a database of links between diseases, symptoms, treatments … etc, which doesn’t need a lot of IQ to process (no offence 6ab3an :P).

However, take Physics or Mathematics for example. There is almost no “experience” factor contributing to the skill level of a professional into one of those areas, maybe a little but still it’s incomparable to medicine. The skill level here is an accurate measure of the person’s IQ!

To me I consider experience more important than IQ, high IQ doesn't mean that you know everything.

I'd be prefer a high IQ over a good deal of experience Samer :)

Higher IQ means a higher learning rate and thus a faster acquisition of experience. A low IQ means no progress no matter how much experience you already have.

Also remember that an important part of an experience is the ability to change the experience, i.e. to update. If you don't have a high IQ you'll fail to "maintain" your experience and your experience will soon become useless.

Gaith : u continued what i had in mind , a high IQ is better , bs it should be used in proper way to gain the experience and then develop it .......
Samer : U r right too , a high IQ is never enough unless u use it
Wedad : Ramadan Karim to u too , thanks
Naturalblu : well i dont think so !

High IQ helps develope a good amount of experience in short time. It's about the flexibility of the brain and it's ability to learn faster than the others.
A high IQ doctor might need 5 years to improve a very high level of skill and experience, where as an average IQ doctor might need 8 or may be 9 years to achieve the same level of skills and experience.
After all, high IQ is a bless! Really!...
