Gidiup!
I read a little, but I have to go to class soon. So maybe I will come back to it later today. Good luck on your exams. I am sure you will do very well!

I think you're doing a truly amazing job!
Must have taken a lot of courage, too, just starting a blog like that, not knowing whether you'll be able to write something on such a regular basis.

You seem to be an optimist. That is a very good thing.

I'm writing from Arnhem, The Netherlands, and I am also preparing for the final exams. Homer's Odyssey (the part where Odysseus finally gets to leave Kalypso's island and can go home, find his son alive and well, and kill the men who are trying to marry his wife), Livy about legendary Hannibal who surmounted the Alps with his elephants, geometry, differential calculus, acids, bases, decaying nuclei, Aristotle-inspired ethics of virtue...

I haven't read all your past posts yet, but you bet I'm going to.

Good luck with the exams and everything else!

I think you'll be interested in watching this:

http://www.vpro.nl/programma/tegenlicht/afleveringen/27958314/media/21193152/

It's a documentary from 2005 by the VPRO, Dutch public television. (Formerly V.P.R.O., stands for 'Vrijzinnig Protestantse Radio Omroep', which about translates as 'Liberal Protestant Radio Broadcasting Company'. They're hardly that christian anymore, though.)
So, yes, the commentary is in Dutch, but luckily it is sporadic. Some translations:

adviseur: advisor (duh)
adjunct: assistant
afgezant: embassador
bewindvoerder: administrator
politicus: politician
volgende week: next week (that's another episode, also available on vpro.nl, I hope)

I dont't know how long it will still be available over there, so you'd better hurry.

But of course, much of it you already know, I guess. Anyway, you might just learn some Dutch while you're at it :)
