The University of Mosul was founded on April 1, 1967 upon law No. 14 of that year, but the first steps of the University return to 1959 by establishing the College of Medicine, under the Ministry of Health
The University was founded to be a distinguished academic center of higher education in Mosul city and Iraq by graduating qualified people capable of meeting the needs of the countryÂs ambitious development plans, and assuming the leadership roles by providing them with up-to-date knowledge and advanced skills
Presently it offers accredited Bachelor, Master and Doctorate degrees in more than 100 scientific specializations. Above 80,000 students were graduated since the University was established to enter the professional world and effectively serve Iraq
Since its foundation, the University has always given a very high priority to the development of academic programs and curricula, responding to the needs of the society and keeping pace with international academic developments and trends while preserving the values, policies and strategies of the country.

Mom took me to the university yesterday, my cousin came with us to guide us through the college of Electronic engineering (Aka: The 2nd college of Engineering).
The college was founded in 2002, the building is therefore new. And I had a very good first impression. I certainly didn't feel like I was in Mosul. I wish I had a camera with me.
After taking a look at some of the classes, we visited the dean.
The dean is a good friend of my uncle, and he and the other professors who were at his room knew mom. We sat and I got to ask him some questions about what I shall study. I was very nervous and anxious, I really hope those professors would have forgotten me when they see me next time :)
I am hesitated on whether I should study Computer Engineering or Communication engineering. My heart wants Computer engineering, while my brain wants Communication. And I'm guessing the brain will win.
The exam results haven't been released yet, and I'm going crazy from waiting..

I hope your exam results will be good and that you will have a great time and learn a lot at university. I am going to study mathematics at the university of Utrecht, in a very ugly building on the outskirts of the city. But the city itself is not ugly.
Hi Najima.
My son earned an electrical engineering degree with a computer engineering minor. (The nickname for computer engineering is CPEG.) He would suggest you study computer engineering because you'll be able to learn the new technologies more easily. Be ready to work very hard in your math courses, though.

I did a GIS for Mosul University and the few pictures I found show it has quite a bit of surrounding land. Be sure to let us know what you decide to study.

I too would like to know the meaning of the difference regarding the names of the Mosul Univ. classes that are different between communication engineering and computer engineering for
Congratulations Najma on your upcoming entry into University of Mosul!
If I may give you a little advice, when it comes to a career path, I think it is always best to follow your heart! I have worked many jobs that I did not love, and that made me unhappy in my life. If you do work that you love, it will go a long way toward your happiness. :)

I hope you will get your results soon and get to make a decision about what you want to do. By the way what is communication engineering? it's probably a stupid question but I'm not sure I know what it is.
