End Of Ramadan Thoughts

My own “Ramadan Policy” has always been to spend it at home with no travel and limited activities. I like to keep it quiet at home with family, I try to concentrate hard on being spiritual and connected to God more than anything else, not this Ramadan...The second week of Ramadan my daughter and her daughters came and stayed with us for a week, it was a great blessing to have them around, despite the lack of sleeping and the too much physical work with the kids, but I am thankful for such times. It was hard to keep up with being spiritual with lots of family activities around, but I did my best.

I just got back yesterday to Beirut from Kuwait. I had to travel to for one whole week. It was a family emergency in a way. Both S and A caught a virus and were hospitalized for dehydration. They actually got back from Beirut to Kuwait and got sick the next night they were back. I could not stay home waiting for news to get to me; I wanted to be in the middle of the event. It was too worrying to me to be away...They are much better now, back to normal, eating better and regaining their normal energy. It was a very tough time for both of them to go through and very hard time for their parents. I am so glad I was able to go and lend a hand in the right time. It is a blessing.
Tomorrow my daughter and her family are coming over to Beirut. She is dropping her girls off and will go on vacation to Paris and Sharm Al Shaikh for 12 days. I hope she and her husband will have a great time, they need the break from everyday life and raising kids. Parenting is one of the toughest jobs on earth. I am so happy to have the girls all to myself too!!! It should be interesting. Also we are having my husband’s niece and her husband from Cairo for the holiday. They are staying with us at our home too. I hope they will have fun with us and get to go around the city to do some sight seeing.

I am not sure if I will blog here at all during the next two weeks, but I will try.

My cooking blog is taking some work to maintain, but it has been enjoyable. I should be working on video taping the recipes in the next couple of days, since I will be cooking for the guests….but I am taking a break from cooking during the holiday for sure.

Wishing all my dear readers very blessed last days of Ramadan and a very happy holiday. I hope this holiday brings you much pleasure with your family and loved ones. Enjoy the Eid vacation.

I am glad to hear that your brown eyed girls are well now. It must have been scary to have them sick like that.

Vacation....that's wonderful thing for parents to do. You're right about parenting being hard, but also the most rewarding experience there is.

Insha'Allah you had a wonderful and blessed Eid.

The picture of the ka3ek, ma'amoul, looks delicious. Did you make these? If so, do you have a recipe and/or video for them?
