World Trade Center (2006)
Oliver Stone's "Word trade center" Is one amazing flick, something that will leave a mark in the movie history.

10/10 on the Qwaider scale
I was so sick, heavily medicated and very tired. Yet I dragged myself to go and watch this movie since I've been waiting for this one for a while
After the disappointment of "United 93" which was very anti immigrant, Anti colored and anti many other things. Comes Oliver Stones masterpiece
And what a fantastic movie it was. This is "Passion of the Christ" of all 9/11 movies. I went there expecting Oliver Stone to talk about conspiracy theories. But I was totally surprised as this movie is more about the human events, the stories of people. A very touching story if I may add.
The cinematography is extremely claustrophobic, the sound track is haunting and causes you to forget to breath in and sometimes swallow. It brings back the emotions of "oh my god" that many people had at that point in history.
Nicolas Cage plays the role of a lifetime, and the whole cast is so amazing, I guess this is Stone's effect.
I guess, the best part about the movie was tat it didn't blame any body for what happened. It didn't say these people or those people did this or did that. It didn't focus on white, blue eyed Americans. But rather the normal people. the hispanic married to an Italian with a little German. The husband who's afraid to die because his wife is pissed that he didn't finish the kitchen. Just normal people
Couple of things the movie suggests, and for everyone to ponder about.... What if something happens to someone you love? What if you had a fight before it .... would it count if you're not going to see them again?
"Many things have happened, that we can't believe we're capable of, some evil, yes sure, but great part is the the good actions and emotions of people just doing great things because they're the right thing to do...."
People from 86 countries died in the WTC
This is definitely a must see

Memories....
asalam 3alaykom,
"What if something happens to someone you love? What if you had a fight before it .... would it count if you're not going to see them again?"
I guess that's a killer..so hard to live with if allah forbids it happened..
i also guess that making sure not to disappoint or hurt someone you love is essential if we put this in mind..also from alsunnah, that when you love someone you let him know..as if we're supposed to cherish every momentwe have with our loved ones..
hard to out run fate!! but we can at least intend to..nice post ya pasha;)
You always make us want to see the movies you write about , you really have a special way in telling any movie story.
I like the movies that talk about normal people , normal life and things that may happen with any of us any time and any where.
These movies are always very close to those who are watching them.
The caller , I like your comment and yes e7na ma lazem enza33el elnas elly ben7ebhom w eza za3alnahom ma lazem netrokhom za3lanin w 7atta eza z3elna menhom lazem ne7kilhom yradona :-) becoz e7na ma bne3raf sho beseer !
I guess we are all human with the same stories
PS: I hope no one gets from this that I support the American foreign policies or that I'm with the crimes they are committing all over the world.
Is there a movie for Nickolas Cage that is not good?? The guy is perfect :)
I have seen the commercial for this movie and I cannot wait to see it it .. now that you have spoken about it, you added another good reason why I should go and see this one!
The minute I saw the WTC's on fire and saw how it happened; the only idea that haunted my mind was how people in the plane felt? how people in the storey that was hit must have felt when they saw the monster plane heading into them? how people remaining after the crash felt? those who lived with guilt because they did not take the chance to make amends with their loved ones .. those who lived with regret that they did not care enough or love enough ... It is always about the people whether in our part of the world or theirs ... it is always about the innocent unsuspecting unexpecting people ...
I lost alot of friends and family on September 11. I also have a brother-inlaw who is NYPD. We lost a big part of him during those weeks folowing the attack. I read about the people who are going through the war in the middle east. I'm sure you all feel pain just as deep as I do:( A war has no winners!!!
"Am I going to see it?" You may wonder. Well most likely not....The pain, guilt, and grief is just way to deep....
We'll see....
