RE: Asian Women and Kuwaiti Police

Have you ever visited America and watched young Arab men stopped detained and harassed. I have.

Today, in Kuwait city I watched Asian women between the ages of 18 to 30 stopped.

All of them were young and attractive.

From 11:00 am to 12:30 I watched. As they were pulled off the sidewalk and taken to police cars.

What caused me to take notice was when I saw a young couple stopped and an officer [name withheld] told the young Filipino man to go away and he just left her.

After it appear he felt threaten. I watched as the officer [name removed] take the woman out of view.

She had only a photo copy of her ID and in this State you know that Sponsors do not give Civil ID to their housemaids sometimes so as to keep them from going outside and even having access to Bank accounts even a cell phone purchase.

It was not long that two officer approached me and asked me for my ID just as I had seen in New York as young Arab men who had done nothing but look Arab and watching people pass by.

Can I see your ID.

I said you know I am American and my papers are in order-I asked are you doing anything wrong?

I asked again are you doing anything wrong-I know this is nothing but Harassment.

He smiled. Why are you thinking that way?

I told him that I watched men like him Harassed often and I know this is nothing but the same. I am watching these acts and the question is who is he and is he a reporter,someone from the military or embassy?

My civil ID was in order of course. And I was told that they were spot checking and I smiled and thought for one hour only young women

And right after this I continued to stand and watch and they would stop a few men. Indian and an older asian lady.

When you hear the horror stories of young women and police-You wonder why no one from the embassy,ministry or papers come to witness these acts under the guise of civil ID checks.

Come any Friday or Saturday and see this and hope no one is taken and harmed or raped or assaulted. How can the Phillippines government not know.

How can they not know about the maids that work for 20 and 30 and 50 KD and held in Kwuaiti household and have one day at 4 hours to leave out the house a month.

Someone should get concern.
