Will Joy and peace ever visit Lebanon any time soon? Will the Lebanese people be able to enjoy their lives again in their own country? I hope so!!
Sadness and loss of hope for Lebanon to regain its livelihood are diminishing. All I can do is hope for the best to come its way.
On a personal note, this was the LAST Eid Al Adha for me and my family while living in Beirut, and it will be the LAST Christmas and LAST New Year's eve my family and I are going to be spending in Beirut.
Every year my husband and I wonder where we will be next year. With our unpredictable life style, things can go crazy and we might end up one day in Africa!!! I do not mind the change of countries, places and new people, I am always ready to pack and go but leaving Beirut this time is different, It is making me feel like I am going to leave “home” and never come back again! A bittersweet feeling is coming over me. A feeling of loss and grieve is getting to me! I am very sad about leaving and moving out of this nice place that I grew to love despite its unsettling situation.
Beirut, I am going to miss you, I am going to miss your sea and its waves, your mountains, your streets, your weather, your people and your everything!! But I will be back to visit you any chance I get.
Merry Christmas and a very happy 2008 to each and everyone of you. May next year be a better one for all of us.
