Today in Britain we celebrate Father's Day,while I think everyday should be fathers & mothers day but still it is nice to have a special day dedicated to all the dads out there who usually have to put up with being in the back ground :o)
As usual on Father's Day, I got some goodies from my lovely children may Allah bless them always, I got real cards, home made cards, chocolates that say I love Dad and the latest Gillette Fusion Power Razor, lovely.
Two days ago it was Friday The 13th, which rings bells with superstitious people, for me it was a good day to go to the cinema with friends and watch the latest scary movie, The Happening, this film is made by M Shyamalan who made The Sixth Sense some years ago, the happening is a bit like the Sixth Sense, good film with good old fashion scary bits, it does not contain a lot of gore but it does have few scenes that might make you jump, I enjoyed watching it and as with everything these days it has an environment warning message. a bit of a warning for the ladies and the weak in heart, do take a pack of tissues with you, it is a bit moving at times. Happy Father's Day to you ! It is Father's Day in the USA as well today. I have wanted to see that movie , guess we will have to wait until it comes on Dubai One or MBC movie channel , lol to see it here in Libya .Maybe a DVD ?

انشالله يكون الفلم متلهم بالقصة وبخليك هيك مشدود طول الوقت لتفوتك القصة او لقطة لانو بالنهاية بتكتشف انو الفلم ببلش من الاخر مو من الاول
انشالله عرفت افهمك قصدي ^_^
علشان ادعيلك بعد الفلم واحكي والله صديق الي حكالي عن الفلم واتفشخر شوي

Scary movie?????? Eeeeck! The closest I get to seeing anything like that is those silly spoof Scary Movies that came out. LOL Other than that I'm a whimp.

sixth sense & the others, these to me are great films because they use psychological scare, I am a big fan of horror films but most films these days depend too much on gore and blood and that I dont find scary!

Whenever I hear Friday the 13th, I instantly think of Jason Voorhees and Freddie Cooger. Scary childhood memories.
I went to see the happening on Monday. If only I knew you posted a review on your blog about the movie, I would have read it and decided to wait till the DVD was out. That way, atleast I could then jump up and run to the kitchen to drink some water and retain some dignity.
The natural crisis wasnt particularly scary, it was the wide-scale human self-destruction that was FREAKY. Seeing people kill themselves in creative ways was not an experience I was really prepared for. Like when that guy decides to top himself by laying down in front of a combine harvester looking contraption!! I dont actually know what happens after that, because I covered my ears and buried my head in my shirt for 10 minutes... Or that old lady smacking her head on the windows???? ELOTUF!! I almost died.

The film itself isnt really scary, it is the odd scene that makes you jump that I liked, you didnt miss the guy being shredded, you can only hear it.
a word of warning, if you start walking backwrad then you know you are in trouble :o)
